Marvin meets Donny

If Marvin Gaye and Donny Hathaway had a child (I know that sounds weird) October London would be him. Marvin Gaye and Donny Hathaway are definitely smiling down on him. His voice is rare in today's age. His voice sounds like velvet. So many different warm tones. This guy is making timeless music. You can literally hear his soul and passion in his music. Something I feel is lacking in a lot of today's music. When I listen to his music I hear so many legends like The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, and Lenny Williams! How could one guy embody all of those legendary artist? I'll tell you, he's completely engulfed in his music, musically and lyrically he understands the role he play, and he's not afraid to showcase himself. He is a true artist who believes in real soul music. He is committed to making soul music and leaving an impact on the music world. His latest release "Color Blind Hate & Happiness" is a great piece of music. You can hear the many flavors of his voice. "Color Blind" will have you thinking you're listening to Marvin Gaye himself. "Somebody's Getting My Love" is so funky and groovy. I dare you to be still. Don't worry you won't be able to. Lol. "Top Down" ft. Snoop Dog showcases a different side of the soul man but it works beautifully. His vocals compliments Snoop's laid back style. "Where's the Justice" is political and talks about the current times in a Marvin Gaye kinda way. Every track is good and there is no need for the skip button. I really enjoyed this LP and October London is just what the R&B world needs. He's multifaceted and dabbles in a little bit of everything. He's serving us old school music in this new school era.
